About Daniel

I am a professional basketball trainer with years of experience working with beginners, recreational and professional athletes, as well as active NBA & ex-NBA players and Olympians.

Basketball has been my profession for 5 years. I have played in Italy, Spain, Denmark, Sweden and Ireland. My coaching career began in 2019 and I have coached in primary schools, Secondary Schools, Universities and local clubs Sweden, Ireland and the UK. I received my Coaching Certificate in 2020 in Ireland whilst, coaching under Niall Berry’s HoopsLife Academy.

Born and raised in London, I have always been into Sports, whether playing or watching. I am a huge Manchester United fan, oddly I don’t have a favourite NBA or Euroleague team. Growing up my sporting icons were Ronaldinho, Michael Jordan, Rafael Nadal and Usain Bolt. Aside from watching or playing a sport, I love to eat. My favourite food is Pounded Yam. I also love watching Action movies. My favourite movie of all time has to be from one of the Dark Knight trilogies!

Our Philosophies

The role of a Personal Coach or Trainer, is to bring to life the client’s vision. Our sessions are geared towards my clients’ wants.  At times, we tend to point out strengths & weaknesses and bring it to the attention of the client so that they have a decision on what’s best for each session but, it is the responsibility of the player to decide how they want to play.

Our main coaching philosophies derive from the Constraints-Led and Differential Learning approach using a changing, game-based environment to aid the discovery of new skill.

We have a “relaxed” but strong way of communicating. We don’t believe in ‘prodding’ for an emotional response. Sadly, this is very much how players from where we are from, were taught basketball; one is most likely to miss the intricate details of a new skill and simply act to please and not to learn. We find alternative ways to motivate clients to keep going and/or stay focused.

Reviews

Here are a few paragraphs of what clients have said about our Sessions:

Daniel is an excellent coach! I feel like I’ve improved immensely after every session. He’s very attentive to details and always ensures the drills we do can be applied to game-based situations.

-Alisa, Producer

Phil has really helped me take my game to the next level. All his drills are relevant to what I want to improve on. I personally highly recommend him for any Pro Basketball Player looking to improve their game over the Off-Season.

-Gytis, Professional Basketball Player

Daniel is a fantastic tutor who I would thoroughly recommend. He has tutored my son for 2 years and the sessions have been extremely valuable, both for my son’s physical fitness, basketball skills and also his mental well-being. My son’s skills and confidence in playing have improved hugely thanks to Daniel and Daniel is also a fantastic mentor, a great communicator and has shown a real interest in my son’s wellbeing and development beyond the tutor sessions.

-Christine, Lawyer

Understanding, nurturing and encouraging! Positivity is the name of the game. Remain patient and positive, trust in yourself and you’ll become what you put your mind to! Daniel doesn’t only coach but goes above and beyond to ensure his trainees become self-sufficient!
